The Perfect 10 in recruitment

0

Lifelong Tottenham fan Steve Heywood is the Managing Director of Click Recruitment, and most who met him will know two of his big obsessions in life are recruitment and football. The vastly experienced tech & digital recruiter is happy to share his memories of his favourite player from the nostalgic 80s and reflects why football and recruiting can collide in glorious harmony.

Recruitment masterclass has simple formula:

  • Get recruitment right and you can attract the best candidates.
  • Attract the best talents and you can compete for awards and attractive job roles.
  • Winners will create a culture of success and you can keep recruiting the best people in the market.

The search for the perfect candidate and finding in-demand technical skills will never stop. That’s why GamingMyJob.com is proud to be a partner of UK-based Click Recruitment, a specialist in technology resourcing having built decades-long trusted relationships with great companies and backed by Pertemps Network Group.

Steve Heywood feels like a football scout from the good old days:

“The Perfect 10. We are all looking for the same. The playmaker. The match-winner. That brilliant player with the elegant talent.”

It’s no coincidence that Heywood refers to football while talking about how to ‘develop our own approach’ to recruitment.  Scouting interesting profiles and allowing talents to grow is taking him back walking down the memory lane.

“Style, vision and creativity, Glenn Hoddle had it all. He was one of the most captivating midfielders the English game has known and the icon of a club he himself idolised since his boyhood in Harlow. As an apprentice at Tottenham, Hoddle was once sent up on to the roof of the old Shelf stand to clean the club’s famous golden cockerel statue.

That was where I stood at White Hart Lane. The Shelf; we admired captain Steve Perryman, we loved Ossie Ardiles but we worshipped Glenn Hoddle.

“He had feet like hands”

His ability to read the game and have seemingly plenty of time on the ball was a joy to behold. The archetypal number 10 was famous for his spectacular goals, whether they be long-range shots, volleys or the ridiculous chip from inside the area against Watford. That’s Tottenham Hotspur to the core.

Great ball control, quick feet and a great shot, Hoddle was genuinely two-footed. His peripheral vision was perfect because he could naturally go both ways with the ball. As Terry Venables said “he had feet like hands, that’s how well he controlled the ball””.

Hoddle was idolised at Tottenham and Steve Heywood will forever be grateful for the football scout who discovered him and it shows how good recruitment can bring success.

A favourite for candidates and clients

The Managing Director at Click Recruitment has his own views on why his company and GamingMyJob.com has become a favourite among both candidates and iGaming companies:

  1. Get the right candidate for the right job

The candidate will be placed in the job position that bring the best very best out of him/her.

  1. Wait for the right candidate

Top recruitment requires patience and communication as we strive for the perfect combination.

  1. Hire on personality and character

Ideal candidates are hard-working talents with a positive personality and professional. They present themselves well, are good communicators and not afraid to show ambitions.

  1. Develop the talent pool

There is huge pride internally to have built an international talent pool which keeps bringing success both in Malta, UK, Spain and Cyprus.

  1. Quality always matters

Oh yeah! I know Click Recruitment and GamingMyJob can offer something unique in the international recruitment market.  We’re looking forward to discuss where we can potentially support clients and candidates with their IT/Tech and Digital recruitment requirements in 2022.

Good luck!
